Living in Phnom Penh, me and my roommate decided to take a weekend off and go to Ho Chi Minh for Water Festival. We both never had the chance to go to Vietnam so the 4-day weekend was for us, a perfect occasion. Also, we learnt that the trip from Phnom Penh to Ho Chi Minh by bus was only 9$ so it was an easy decision!

So here is how our adventure starts.
We are three friends from Madrid doing an exchange year in Taichung (Taiwan) and we wanted to take the advantage of being in Asia to travel around the continent before going back to Spain.
Cambodia was relatively close to us, it had been recommended by a lot of people, and above all, we had a very good friend who was living there and spoke to us wonders about the country.
Laos is an incredible country to visit, so it is a shame that it is not easy to reach – until now! Regular buses cost at least $30 one-way to the Laos border, and the quality varies. For less per person than a bus ticket, we had our own mini-van, with a private driver at our disposal for more than 5 full days, taking us from Cambodia to Laos and back. Dream come true!

The way from Phnom Penh to Koh Rong is not easy. You have to combine bus and ferry, adjust to times, and make sure that everything matches. Everything is even harder when you are a group of 22 people. But CamboTicket gave us the solution.
